Indo-Intertex 2018 – An amazing forum in South-East Asia for networking
The 16th ‘Indo Intertex’ was held from 4-7th of April, 2018 in conjunction with INATEX 2018, INDO-DYECHEM 2018 & INDO TEXPRING 2018 at the Jakarta International Expo, Indonesia. The event was organized by PT. Peraga Nusantara Jaya Sakti and was supported by Indonesia Textile Association. More than 562 exhibitors from over 23 countries including Germany, China, Korea, Italy & UK participated and presented their state-of-the-art equipment, materials and services.
At this year’s ITAMMA’s stall, 4 of our members participated in Share-a-table scheme & 14 members submitted their catalogues under Catalogue Display Scheme. A good footfall of visitors was observed at the ITAMMA stall and the statistical analysis based on their business fields are given below.
In-depth Visitor’s Analysis
- Indian visitors were mainly from the Supply Industry, up to about 27% from the Trading Agencies against only 2.67 % from User Industry.
- 30.43% of foreign visitors from the User Industry attending this exhibition is a good sign of trust and confidence that they have in the exhibitor’s products.
- Foreign Visitors were mainly from the Spinning User Industry (21.18%), Trading Agencies (20.00%) and Dyes & Chemical/Other Industry (30.50%).
- While the ratio of Indian Visitors of 43% from Spinning, 17% from Wet-Processing & 13% from Weaving Industry were mainly from Machines & Spares area.
Business Meet & Networking Dinner at Suntar Sunlake Hotel
A business meet along with the networking dinner was organized at Hotel Danau Sunter (Sunlake Hotel) in Jakarta on 6th April, 2018. It was attended by 102 Delegates and around 62 ITAMMA members got an opportunity to interact with 40-45 foreign delegates during the business meet.
Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala, President, ITAMMA delivered a wonderful welcome speech. Mr. Prabir Bhattacharya, Attche (Commercial), Embassy of India attended the event as the Guest of Honour. He interacted with many of the ITAMMA members and invited them to participate in events organized by the Indian Embassy in Indonesia.

ITM 2018 and its Highlights
The 34th International Textile Machinery Exhibition & Hightex 2018 along with 15th International Istanbul Yarn Fair was held from the 14-17th of April, 2018 at Tuyap, Istanbul. ITM 2018 opened its doors to 1200 exhibitors and to the 50000 potential visitors from 77 countries. It was organized with the help of Teknik Fairs & Tuyap. During this year, 3 ITAMMA members participated in Share-a-table scheme & 21 members submitted their Catalogues under Catalogue display scheme. It was a moment of great pride when Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala was invited to be a part of the dignitaries at the Opening Ceremony of ITM-2018.
Highlights of ITM 2018
- Mr. Purnojyoti Mukherjee, Consulate General of India in Turkey visited the ITAMMA stall and had fruitful interactions with Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala, President; Mr. Sanjiv Lathia, Trustee; Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Past-President; Mr. Naresh Mistry, Ex-President; and Mr. Mahesh P. Shah, Managing Committee Member.
- It was also a great honour to have Mr. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Managing Director, LMW visit the stall and share valuable guidance and suggestions.
- Ms. Seema Srivastava, Executive Director, India-ITME Society along with her team who were on this mission of promotion of ‘GTTES-2019’ and ‘ITME-2020’ visited the ITAMMA stall.
- Mr. R.S. Bachkaniwala, Past Chairman, ITMMA and Mr. Sachin Arora, Secretary, ITMMA visited the stall to discuss about new initiatives.
- A boat trip to Bosphoros was held in order to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of TEMSAD’s foundation, followed by a Networking Dinner.

ITAMMA at the GMMSA Expo India, 2018
ITAMMA was offered a place at the GMMSA EXPO INDIA-2018 from 25-28th Feb, 2018 at Dana Mandi, Ludhiana by the Garments Machinery Manufacturers & Suppliers Association. ITAMMA made the best use of this opportunity as a promotional campaign for its Panipat Catalogue show scheduled for 4th May’2018. During the exhibition, representatives of ITAMMA distributed brochures, flyers and ITAMMA Voice as a promotional kit to disseminate the information of the forthcoming Product-cum-Catalogue show which was scheduled on 4th May’2018. As there were many exhibitors from the garment industry, it created an opportunity to interact with them and invite them to enrol as our member. Further the platform also provided enough time to convince 4-5 Visitors for taking the advantage of Sponsorship opportunities available for our forthcoming Panipat event.

A Meet of the Foreign Delegates
The Investment Board of East Java Province, Government of Indonesia in cooperation with Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai had organized a business seminar followed by an interactive meeting session promoting business and investment opportunities in the East Java province of the Republic of Indonesia. The event witnessed the presence of 24 members visiting delegation from the East Java province, headed by the Honourable Governor of East Java province, Government of Indonesia. On behalf of ITAMMA, Mr Diven Dembla, Trustee and Past President and Mr Vishal Masand, Chairman Compliance Sub- Committee attended the event whereby Mr. Dembla welcomed Governor of East Java and the Consul General with a memento.

Interactive briefing session on Indonesia’s Economic Development Policies at the offices of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai
An “Interactive briefing session on Indonesia’s Economic Development Policies and to promote Direct Trade and Investment opportunities between India-Indonesia” was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai and was addressed by Mr. Ade Sukendar, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai. It was held on 19th April 2018 at the offices of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia. Mr Mhatre attended the event and briefed Mr. Ade Sukendar, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, about activities of ITAMMA and handed over the copy of ITAMMA Voice.

The triumph at Panipat
– Connecting with PIET
ITAMMA had recently organized their 20th Product-cum-Catalogue show at the textile hub of Panipat which received an overwhelming response from more than 500 potential visitors from the industry in and around Panipat, Ludhiana. The forum gave ITAMMA members the opportunity to show case/market their innovative products as well as to know the requirements of the end user under one roof in the shortest time at a very competitive cost. The efforts were taken by ITAMMA to register a good number of footfalls of potential entrepreneurs during this event.
Ms Rohita Rewri, MLA, Panipat City inaugurated the show as the Guest of Honour, and briefed the audience on the initiatives of Government of Haryana for the benefit of the Textile Industry.
ITAMMA has always clubbed all its Product-cum-Catalogue Shows with a mill visit. During this event a visit was organized to M/S Shivani Woollen Mills, Panipat and M/S Vardhman Creations; wherein about 15 ITAMMA member-participants got the advantage of interacting with the important authorities of the mills.
The Panipat Textile Cluster consists of more than 90% micro & small enterprises at the same time have a potential of manufacturing state-of–the-art machines & components. Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala gave in details about the activities of ITAMMA and further stretched upon the importance of innovation due to which today we can see the demand for Looms, Dobbies and Jacquards of Panipat.The talk of the event was “ITAMMA Expert Lounge.” It was constructed absolutely free of charge for the experts to avail this facility and interact with the ITAMMA member exhibitors on the technological developments & innovations. At ITAMMA Expert Lounge experts have invited the faculties of PIET and few Industry Experts of Panipat who have developed the looms & dobbies with their huge experience based on reverse engineering principles.
Further an MOU was signed by Mr. Hariom Tayal, Chairman, Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET) Panipat, Haryana and Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala, President, ITAMMA. The Experts invited at ITAMMA Expert Lounge were Dr KK Paliwal, Director, PIET, Mr Vishal Trivedi & Ms Tamanna Saini, Asst. Professors, PIET.

6th B2B Meet & Catalogue show at Silvassa, organized by ITAMMA
– MOU signed with FTER
Another successful B2B-cum-Catalogue show was organized by ITAMMA on the 12th of May at Ganga Valley Resort, Silvassa. The event was well appreciated by textile professionals of Vapi and surrounding regions. More than 300 visitors from the industry in and around Silvassa, Daman, N & H, Vapi, Surat and Ahmedabad attended the event. .
During the inauguration, Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala said that “Innovation is the only thing that can sustain our industry in the competitive and challenging global market of smart & digital manufacturing.” The show was inaugurated by Mr. Karanjit Vadodaria, Director of Industries, DIC, Silvassa, as the Chief Guest.
Realizing the importance of the role of Industry Experts and the Academicians in achieving the above targets, ITAMMA has registered about more than 78 Experts on ITAMMA Expert Panel and also signed MOU’s with more than 24 Textile Research Institutes/Associations/Colleges. Considering these events as a valuable platform for bringing out fruitful interactions among the Industry Experts, Academicians and the representatives of Supply and User Industry of Textile, a special ITAMMA Expert Lounge was constructed inviting the Experts to participate in this mission.
At ITAMMA Expert Lounge we had Dr.P.P. Raichurkar, Associate Dean, NMIMS, Shirpur, Maharashtra; who disseminated information on the “Low Cost Automation in Textile Industry”, while Dr Satish Bapat, Chemical Engg. and Energy Auditor, disseminated the information on “Importance of Energy Audit in Textile Industry”. Further the MOU was also signed by Dr. Latesh Chaudhari, Principal, FETR and Mr. Kaizar Z. Mahuwala, President, ITAMMA.
A special attempt was made to invite the students and faculty of “Faculty of Engineering Technology and Research (FTER),” in order to give them an opportunity to know the details of the various textile technologies.

Coming together with PUM of Netherlands
The Netherlands Senior Experts is a volunteer organization based in The Hague committed to the sustainable development of small and medium-size enterprises in developing countries and emerging markets. PUM stimulates the well-being and development of the employees, volunteers and customers. By doing so, we impact positively on the economy, society and the environment.
PUM has a network of about 150 representatives in 30 countries around the world, connecting directly with entrepreneurs, business support organizations like ITAMMA and partners locally.
How can ITAMMA members benefit?
ITAMMA members can apply for PUM assistance to find solutions on production, quality, business operations, skill and technology up gradation, sourcing of technology and equipment and enhance export capability and competitiveness.

Joining hands with MSME-Technology Development Centre
As part of its industry betterment exercise, ITAMMA recently had a two day seminar on ‘How to Improve your Business and Capsule’ course on GST Return filling and other issues which was organized by Extension Centre-Rajkot of MSME-Technology Development Centre, Agra. At the event an MOU was also signed by ITAMMA with Extension Centre-Rajkot of MSME-Technology Development Centre, Agra on 18th May, 2018 at AMA, Ahmedabad.
Extension Centre-Rajkot of MSME-Technology Development Centre, Agra in association with ITAMMA has organized a one-day training workshop on Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt on 18th May, 2018 at AMA, Ahmedabad. The Programme was inaugurated by Mr. Kaizar Mahuwala President ITAMMA. There was Mr. Pravin R. Joshi Head of MSME-TDC Rajkot Centre, who was also key speaker. The programme was attended by 36 participants from member units of ITAMMA. The profile of participants included entrepreneurs as well as their employees from manufacturing, quality control, design, marketing, etc. The training session on Lean Six Sigma was taken by Mr. Pravin R. Joshi. He explained how combination of Lean i.e. waste minimization & Six Sigma i.e. reducing variations in processes can result in Defect/ Failures/ Error Reduction, Yield Improvement, Higher Profitability & Improved Customer Satisfaction in any business organization. The entire training workshop was very interactive & participants immensely benefited by acquiring knowledge & exposure on Lean Six Sigma Methodology & its applications which will help them in improving market penetration, customer satisfaction and at the same time reducing cost of doing business.

Export Cell Meeting at Coimbatore
Annual export cell meeting for Coimbatore region was conducted on 28th of March at Hotel Gokulam Park. The meeting was attended by the core team of ITAMMA Coimbatore consisting of more than 15 members. Being an export cell meet, the topic chosen for this year was market outlook for Indonesia. The meeting started with an elaborate presentation by Mr. J. M. Balaji, Chairman of Events & Publication subcommittee. He spoke about the overall raw material consumption, market size, and new investments and concluded by giving a roadmap for the near future. Followed by this was a presentation on China market delivered by Mr. S. Senthil Kumar, Past President ITAMMA, where he emphasised more about the spinning spare parts business scenario and the future potential it holds for Indian suppliers.

‘The Boons of Digitalization’, a conference a Conference Jointly by Publish-Industry India Pvt. Ltd., Pune and ITAMMA
In order to bridge the technology gap, Government of India has also come forward with the scheme of “Make-in-India.” Considering the need of the adoption of the technologies at faster speeds, Government of India has also floated a special scheme of “Technology Acquisition” by which technologies which have already been discovered and available for transfer in the form of IPR, designs & drawings, etc., are supported under this component. ITAMMA has also organized its activities in these areas by obtaining further support from 5S, Lean, Product Design Projects, Operational Excellence, and now Green Technologies.
Recently the core team of ITAMMA Coimbatore organized a conference on “How Indian Industrial Equipment/Machinery Manufacturers can target Global Market by Leveraging Digitalization” jointly in association with the M/s. Publish-Industry India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, which was well attended by textile technocrats from the southern region.
